5 Tips For Finding Cheap Holiday Airplane Tickets

When you are looking for cheap holiday airplane tickets, the first thing you need to know is flexibility is the best way to find cheap airfare. The more flexibility you have the better your chances are for finding affordable airfare. If you can leave for your trip any time, then you will find some deals on airfare and hotel accommodations. There is many times that looking for airfare that is the lowest. You will find that airlines sometimes reduce prices of airfare so they can get more people on one plane that is leaving almost empty. This is the best tip for traveling and finding low airfare prices.

Know the price of airfare for every airline. If you know what the price of a ticket or even of accommodations is normally, you will see that checking travel sites will produce many reduced prices at different times. Know the price of the ticket normally and look every day or every week to see when the airlines discount tickets to attract more travels. This is done fairly regularly by the airlines. The best time to find discounted tickets is during the off seasons for traveling. Many locations are beautiful to visit when there is little tourism.

Travel when the time is right for you. Plan your travel plans around the cheapest times and days of the year. This means that if you want a vacation and have flexibility, weekdays and certain times of the year are great for finding cheap holiday destinations. You could travel to Gran Canaria during the week of October and more than likely find a cheaper cost than what you would have during the summer on a weekend. It is all about timing when you are looking for the best travel arrangements with cheaper prices. The best time to depart is at night when most people are sleeping.

Buying tickets and booking accommodations in advance can provide some discounts and savings to the traveler. If you watch the prices and buy tickets in advance, you will save some money. This is true of hotels. Many hotels have slow times of the year and will lower the rates. As the hotel starts booking more rooms, they will raise the prices. Booking a trip in advance will allow for a savings more so than booking the day before a trip unless the airlines is trying to fill the plane.

Always use a travel site that updates prices of airfare, hotels and packages daily. This is a great way to find the cheapest prices for your travel plans. If you can have email alerts from the site, that will give you advantage for knowing when something you are looking for as been discounted. Cheap holidays to destinations all over the world can be had for discount prices if you follow these five tips. All you need to do is be flexible and have some time to wait out the prices or the season. Travel when others are staying home because of school or other family responsibilities.

Airline Miles Credit Cards Comparison

By: Robert Alan

At one time, there were not many airline credit cards available for you to choose from. The first of the airline miles credit cards was the Citi AAdvantage MasterCard, which is still available today. Though this card had plenty to offer, it wasn't necessarily the best airline credit card for everyone.

The Evolution of Airline Credit Cards

Over time, airline miles credit cards began to evolve. Soon after the Citi AAdvantage MasterCard hit the market, the United Airlines Mileage Plus card was offered through a partnership with United Airlines. Shortly after, Continental Airlines followed suit with the Continental Airlines World MasterCard. These leaders in the airline miles credit card industry started what has become a widespread credit card option for frequent travelers.

Partnering with Airlines

The partnerships formed between credit card companies and airlines put a new face on airline credit cards. Today, there are just as many airline credit cards to choose from as there are airlines. The majority of these airline credit cards are pretty much the same, though the subtle nuances can vary from card to card. With all of these cards, the miles you earn are good for use with just the airline named on the card. The only exception to this is if the airline has sister companies. In this case, the miles may be good with the sister airlines as well.

Generic Airline Credit Cards

In addition to the vast number of airline credit cards that are formed in partnership with airlines, there are many generic credit cards. In this case, the word "generic" doesn't stand for off brand or low quality. Rather, these cards allow you to earn airline miles that you can use with any airline of your choice. Usually, these cards work by assigning each airline mile a monetary value, usually 1 or 2 cents per mile. You can then use these miles to purchase a ticket through the credit card company that the company has acquired from the airline at a discounted price.

With generic airline credit cards, you are provided far more freedom in deciding which airline to use. This allows you to select the airline that is running a flight at the time and location that is best for you. It also allows you to take advantage of market fluctuations in ticket prices from one airline to the next.

Additional Perks

In addition to the number of miles it takes to earn free travel with airline credit cards, you should consider the additional perks offered. For example, so airline credit cards only provide special discounts for air travel. On the other hand, some cards allow you to redeem your points for other travel related necessities, such as car rentals, cruises, hotel stays, and vacation packages.

You should also pay attention to the special incentives offered by airline miles credit cards. Some allow you to earn bonus miles through certain purchases. For example, you might be able to earn bonus miles with a credit card that has partnered with a specific airline if you make purchases from that airline on the credit card.

In addition to incentives, some airline credit cards provide sign up bonuses. It is fairly common for an airline credit card to offer 5,000 bonus miles after using the card for the first time. The Gold Delta Skymiles Credit Card and American Express Credit Cards offer 10,000 bonus miles. Of course, you need to look out for how many miles it takes to earn a free ticket. The average number of miles needed with airline credit cards is 25,000, but you should always read all of the fine print first before making a decision.

Fractional Aircraft Ownership

Fractional Aircraft Ownership
By Jake Strong

For many, owning a private aircraft is about status-with convenience being important too. Because aircraft ownership is a sizable investment and because many wisely look before they leap, fractional ownership is very popular.

Here's how it works. With fractional ownership you purchase an "interest" in the aircraft. An aviation company, as part of its overall aircraft fleet, operates the aircraft. As a fractional owner you have use of the aircraft basically on demand. Of course, you can't use it a million times a year. With your investment comes a limit of flying hours.

Generally, if you plan to fly 200 hours or less annually, fractional ownership can be a good option for you. Also, as an owner, you won't have to worry about a lot of the stuff that goes into private aircraft ownership. For instance, the aircraft management company will provide pilots, insurance and maintenance for your plane. They may also provide catering and other great services.

As a private aircraft owner, scheduling flights days and weeks in advance is a thing of the past. Once an owner, you simply pick up the phone and your plane will be ready in a few hours-where you want it and where you want to go. It's the ultimate in convenience.

The investment size will vary with the plane. Typically, fractional ownership deals are split into eighths. Today, these deals are available on just about any type of aircraft-even smaller single-engine piston planes. Fractional ownership is a great first step into the private aircraft arena.

New Super Sonic Airliner To Be Built in Japan

New Super Sonic Airliner to Be Built in Japan
By Lance Winslow

Just when you thought the Concorde and super sonic airliner flight was all but dead now the Japanese want to build the ultimate in Super Sonic Airliners to go from Tokyo to Los Angeles or New York in record time and at record speeds. But they need a little help from NASA to do it. Luckily we are certainly learning a lot about the subject and the aviation industry has learned a lot from the Concorde as well. Some of these lessons have not come so cheap and have cost many lives indeed.

The Japanese Space Agency will work with the National Aeronautics and Space Agency to build a new super fast airliner capable of making the trip across the Pacific Ocean in under 3 hours. But how could that be possible? Well using the newest in technology of course and they want to be able to do 5.5 Mach or five and a half times the speed of sound. This is a long-term project and should be done by 2025. How can anything go that fast you ask? Well using a Scram Jet engine which could allow it to go ten times that of a normal commercial jet airliner of today.

This will be a joint project with NASA and Boeing Technologies in a venture with Mitsubishi, Kawasaki, Fuji and Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries said the Japanese Space agency. Excellent indeed and the need for speed is enough to fund the entire project from seed to weed. Consider all this in 2006.
